Filipino Heritage 10-Vol Set ( First Edition) - Near Fine
FILIPINO HERITAGE: THE MAKING OF A NATION
Complete 10-Volume Set
Lahing Pilipino Publishing, 1977/1978
First Edition Printing
For the serious Filipiniana collector, this is the definitive acquisition. This 1977/1978 printing is the original release of the landmark 10-volume set, Filipino Heritage: The Making of a Nation. While these were originally sold via exclusive subscription in the late 70s, finding a "Matched Set" in this display-only condition is a rare occurrence in the secondary market.
Condition Assessment:
• Complete 10/10 volumes
• Original dust jackets present on all volumes
• Original clear protective plastic covers retained
• Bindings tight; volumes appear unread
• Pages bright and clean
• No mildew, no water damage
• No spine sun fading
• Corners sharp and square
• Minor foxing due to age and typical of 70's paper stock
• Interior pages free from insect bites and no water stains
Overall condition: Near Fine, with minor edge foxing typical of 1977 paper stock.
This set was preserved as a display copy and shows none of the structural fatigue common in circulated household sets. Never been used or read. Spines are straight, jackets clean, and interiors crisp.
Market Context:
While widely distributed during its original subscription release, complete sets in this preserved condition — with jackets and original protective covers intact — are increasingly difficult to source in the Philippine secondary market. Most surviving sets exhibit heavy wear, sun fading, or mildew deterioration. This example does not.
Ideal for:
• Filipiniana collectors
• Executive office display
• Law firms, heritage institutions, corporate libraries
• Interior designers staging heritage-themed spaces
• Long-term cultural preservation collections
